Tonight I had the pleasure of introducing (& providing the audio support) for Steve Coogan in character as Alan Partridge. This was at The Trafford Centre to launch Alan's new book for which hundred's turned up to meet the Norwich legend.

Busy Week!

Phew! Glad that weeks over!

2 Days of Filming, 2 Conferences, 2 Christmas light switch on events, 1 Fashion workshop, 1 Charity event and a 16 Band Music Festival - It's time to sort out the unit, load the vans for this weeks madness but first....a brandy & coke!

November News

With the first of six Christmas lights switch on events out of the way (Steps at The Trafford Centre) we start November with lots of awards, conference & fashion events. Typically a lot of jobs fall on one day...we have four tomorrow spread around the country. Anyway....must crack on programming computer stuff.....

Three down.....two to go. Trying to pull off a national touring show is hard work to say the least, long hours and ridiculous access is part & parcel of life on the road! Off to Southampton at 08:00 for another full day tomorrow with the series final being filmed at Manchester's Trafford Centre this weekend. Check out the catwalk sound & lighting provided by L.A.S. And now the madness....

After a relaxing August holiday season September is looming!. It has to be one of the busiest ever. We have been commissioned by Endemol for the next series of Goks Clothes Roadshow (Starts 1st Sept), we are working on the Labour party conference in Liverpool, Conferences for Mars, company briefings, fashion shows, P.A jobs, filming events and promotional videos.....and thats without mentioning the last minute jobs

I am going to start a campaign for September to be longer....say 40 days

BBC Drape

Its not all sound & lighting stuff we get involved with.....we supplied a gold lame backdrop for a childrens exhibition for the BBC at Media City, Manchester. Marco liked it so much he has underwear made from the material!!

Marketing Society Awards

Last Wednesday saw L.A.S. at Lancashire County Cricket Club for the Marketing Society awards dinner. Presenter by former "broom cupboarder" Andy Crane,  the day went without a hitch.

A Day at the Races

Last Friday we had a day at Chester Races, well to be fair we were working and having a flutter on the horses. The Trafford Centre hired in a bunch of professional dances to create a "Flash Mob" in various locations around the race course. Despite the rain....lots of rain, thousands of race goers enjoyed the dancing, and the champagne.

It's been a long week, we've just returned from Dubrovnik where CPM International held their sales conference. Due to the import restrictions and strict border control we hired in local AV company FiFi Sound, Ivica, Johhny & his crew were brilliant and supplied everything we asked for. Highly recommended if you are working in Croatia and need some or all of your AV.

The conference including receptions, breakout rooms & gala dinners were all a great success and we even got time for a cheeky beer and a relax in the sun.........now back to the real world and the rain!

Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model

L.A.S. were on set in London to provide the P.A system for Britain & Ireland's next top model final 2011. The event hosted by Elle MacPherson featured two live tracks from Katy B. We also supplied the screen, projection and graphics for the judges to help choose the winner. The set design was by Simon Hatter who also designed the last two series of Gok's Fashion Fix.

No ! Not the stairs!!!

Imagine the despair, the disappointment, the forget that we're going home feeling when you are told at 05:45 that the only service lift to the 29th floor is out of action due to a flood.

That's exactly the situation we faced last week trying to access "Altitude" in London's Millbank Tower for a UK Management Conference for CPM. After 90 minutes of sweet talking the security guards we were allowed up in the passenger lifts and managed to get things ready for rehearsals at 08:30. (No wonder I've got no hair!!)

Anyway, things were calm and the venue looked great for the Gala Dinner too

New Kit

L.A.S. have just taken delivery of some new video kit. We can now supply LED soft lights, ReflectMedia LED Chromakey (4m x 3m backdrop) and an AUTOCUE that can be mounted above and below the camera and through a 70:30 glass too.

After touring the country around eight locations we have just finished series four of Goks Fashion Roadshow 2011. L.A.S. supplied the catwalk, stage set, lighting & sound for the tour and were on hand the edit the music tracks and make last minute adjustments before the film crew arrived. The show can be seen in HD, Channel 4 Tuesday nights at 20:00

Fashion for 2011

You know AV technicians know a thing or two about fashion.....we've been wearing our little black numbers for years. As 2011 kicked in we kicked off the second leg of our tour with Gok Wan for his new TV series Goks Fashion Roadshow (Channel 4 - 20:00 on Tuesdays)

Mars Conference

This January we supplied the stage, set & AV kit for Mars confectionary for two conferences in Manchester & Oxford. We never thought 4 AV Techs could eat so much chocolate! (Actually Adam just ate nuts and healthy stuff)
