H Festival - Conference & Awards

Upon arriving at "The Venue" (That's what it's called) we found the management had slightly changed the stage backdrop from a black drape to a lovely, smooth plastered wall

However, for the specified rear projection it was now very much in the way so the set builders & Ashley & Duncan from Gallowglass removed it
After that small hiccup in the plans the build & rehearsals all went well as did the show day, part hosted by comedian Dave Spikey.

Nike Ball Launch

Who'd have thought that a football could be so technical.....well, apparently it is. We supplied the stage set, AV & production for the latest Nike football launch for the T90. The event was a media launch featuring a couple of premiership goalkeepers who demonstrated the accuracy of the new ball...If only England could have used one in the last world cup?

Arm Wars

Possibly one of the strangest annual jobs we support is Arm Wars. A two day arm wrestling competition with competitors taking part from all over the world. The event at The Trafford Centre took place on the 24th & 25th July - there was Thunder & Lighting and the occasional "strap"....you'd have to be there!!

What a Friday last Friday was !!
We covered two housing trusts annual conferences, one at the amazing Concorde centre at Manchester airport and the other at Manchester United. It was the usual long hours that us AV types have to work and to top it all we projected the England game onto a 10ft screen so our client could watch the terrible game in more detail!!...Why O why?

Awards at Leeds Town Hall

What a stunning venue with possibly the most helpful in -house crew I've worked with. Leeds Town Hall was the venue for the NAS awards last Thursday and L.A.S. were there to provide the AV support for Don't Panic Projects. With additional technical support from Adam Stevenson, Drew Perry & Simon Sharp the event was a huge success with the end client claiming "it was the best awards event in years!"

The Mitchell Brothers?

Earlier this week we provided the technical equipment for the Vision Media wrap party in the Black Dog Ballroom, Manchester. Despite being awful access all went well. The event was hosted by Radio One's news anchorman Dominic Byrne who wants to look like a taller version of me!

We had lots of VT clips to playback mixed with a live camera feed which was easy using the Tricaster Studio production suite.

Where's Robin Hood?

Deep in Sherwood Forest...... That's where we were last week at a 3 day conference. As the delegates went off hiking and doing outdoor type stuff, the L.A.S boys went off hiking too....trying to find our luxury villas (No really we had a sauna - not that we had any time to use it)...

Evening entertainment was supplied by "Rockeoke" (The same karaoke backing band that toured with Radio's Chris Moyles last year) & DJ Steve Lewis who enjoyed playing through our D&B Q1 system.
Also - Thanks to Adam Stevenson for the stunning graphics during the evening and his help during the event.

Band On The Wall

It was and still is an iconic venue in Manchester famous for launching the careers of many well known artists.... This week it was the venue for Coca-Cola and a regional sales conference.
Although getting our van stuck three times in the snow outside we managed to get in at 07:00 and build the stage set and screens.
A flawless conference and free Coca-Cola too!

But how did the "Band on the Wall" get its name in the first place.......heres a clue!
